Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions — that’s a good sign. Here are the ones we hear most often.
If something isn’t answered here, just reach out. There’s no obligation, and we’re always happy to talk through what might work for you or your team.

About the training

Q: What will I actually learn?

This training is not a 101. It’s not policy-heavy, and it won’t overwhelm you with trauma narratives. It’s built for people who are already in the work and want to get better at the hardest parts of it.You’ll leave with a clearer way to think about what you’re actually navigating. That includes understanding the difference between complexity (the structural reality of a situation) and intensity (what it feels like in the moment) — and why confusing the two leads to responses that don’t fit. You’ll learn how a client’s capacity shapes their engagement, and how to match your response to where they actually are rather than where you need them to be. We’ll look at role clarity — what it means to be a relational anchor rather than a rescuer or fixer — and what it looks like in practice when those boundaries get blurry under pressure. The session uses real scenarios, discussion, and breakout work. People often say they leave with language for things they already knew but couldn’t name — and a different relationship to the pace of this work. The core idea running through everything: connection is the intervention.

Q: Is this a beginner training?

No — and that’s intentional. This training is designed for people who are already working with survivors of trafficking or gender-based violence and want to go deeper. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should have some context for the work. If you’re brand new to the field and looking for foundational awareness, reach out and we can point you in the right direction.

Q: Is the training virtual?

Yes — all public sessions are held live on Zoom. Cameras are optional, and the chat is open so you can participate however feels right for you. There’s a break at the halfway point. You’ll receive a Zoom link and any session details by email after registering. If you don’t see the confirmation within a few hours, check your spam folder or reach out to us directly.

Q: Is this training right for my role?

If you work alongside people who have experienced trafficking or exploitation — even if that’s not the primary focus of your role — this training is likely a fit. Past participants have included frontline workers, peer support workers, case managers, supervisors, nurses, housing workers, and school board staff. The frameworks are transferable across sectors, and the session is designed so participants with different backgrounds can learn from each other as much as from the content.

Registering and paying

Q: What happens after I pay?

Once you complete registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your Zoom link and a short intake form. The intake form helps us understand your role and context so the session can be as relevant as possible for everyone in the room — it’s not a test, just a way to get a sense of who’s joining us. You’ll also receive a reminder closer to the training date.

Q: Can my organization pay for my registration?

Absolutely. Many participants register through their workplace. If you need an invoice for reimbursement or budget approval, just contact us before registering and we’ll send one along. We’re used to working within organizational processes and are happy to make it as smooth as possible.

Q: Do you offer group rates for teams?

Yes — if you’re registering three or more people from the same organization, reach out before booking and we’ll discuss options. We also offer customized in-house training for organizations that want a session built around their specific team, sector, and context. Those sessions can go deeper and be tailored to the situations your team actually faces.

Other questions

Q: Can you come and train our whole organization?

Yes, and that’s often where the work goes deepest. We offer half-day, full-day, and multi-day options and have worked with school boards, healthcare teams, housing agencies, women’s serving organizations, fire departments, and more. In-house sessions are fully customized — the frameworks, scenarios, and discussions are built around your team’s real work. Get in touch and we’ll have a conversation about what makes sense. No commitment required.

Q: I still have a question — how do I reach you?

We’d love to hear from you. Email us at [email protected] or call 1-289-213-4253. We aim to respond within two business days. Whether you’re ready to register or just figuring out if this is the right fit, there’s no pressure — just a conversation.
